T&C Skateboards and Dakine invite skaters to come out and show their skills at Mililani Skate Park on October 4 at the 15th annual Sunburn Classic.

More of a gathering than a hard-core contest, the event is one way T&C Surf Designs gives back to the community. Entry is free and is open to all ages. The event lets kids get some contest experience, kick back at the park with Dakine pro skaters and walk away with a ton of sponsor giveaways.

Be sure to get there early to secure a spot. Registration opens promptly at 8:30 a.m., and divisions will sell out quickly. Competitors skate in one of three divisions; 13 and under, 14-17, 18 & over and Sponsored (B-team riders).

Preliminary rounds will consist of ten skaters throwing it down for seven minutes. The top five advance to the finals in a five-minute showdown. Massive prize packs, including skateboards, tees, hats and other skate hard goods and apparel, will go to the top six in each division.

Best trick contest (amateur) ... includes a "sponsored" division for the local standouts.

Dakine is flying in skate team members Chris Haslam, Kyle Berard, Brent Atchley and Paul Machnau to put on a skate demo and sign autographs. Everyone is encouraged to bring their board, backpack or t-shirt for their favorite skater to sign. Posters will also be available at no charge.
